This is from Todd Liebsch’s Speech during the Opening Ceremony, who is Accessibility Coordinator for PrideFest 2010.
"The Wisconsin Rainbow Alliance of the Deaf has been an important, integral, and iconic part of PrideFest for many, many years.
Diversity means so many things and has deep meaning beyond LGBT. Even deeper than what defines us all as LGBT Brothers and sisters, we have unique abilities that set us apart and identify each of us – allowing us to say ‘ I Dare to be me’ everyday and show our true selves.
One segment of our LGBT community that “Dares to be themselves” every day is our Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. WISCRAD proves that we are all capable of volunteerism and that volunteerism is Universal.
I am proud to represent the area of Accessibility for PrideFest, honored to call the many volunteers of this organization FRIENDS.
On behalf of PrideFest Production Team and our Board of Directors & myself – WE are honored to present WISCRAD with this certificate of service, in recognition of its support of PrideFest and LGBT community – ALL of us no matter the characteristics which identify us as individuals and allow us to be Dare To Be Ourselves – EVERYDAY. THANK YOU WISCRAD for all YOUR SUPPORT!"
